Community Programs

The STEAMBotics Program promotes science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics to nearly 40 elementary students at Helen Anderson Toland International Academy through robotics. The academy is a federally designated Title 1 neighborhood school located in historic West Las Vegas, and the majority of its students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. The students represent a cross-section of demographics. The students are taught to design, build, program and operate robots in preparation for an annual robotics competition. In addition to exposure to robotics and technology, students improve leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, learn teamwork, tap into their creativity and improve their self-esteem.
